I really hope you enjoy the transformation of this condo design from a Bland to Grand space in only 8 days!
This was not just a makeover, it was a renovation including all new bamboo flooring, electrical by http://www.fosterelectric.com, light fixtures, wallpaper, granite countertops, sink & faucet from Delta Faucets, refinished kitchen & bath cabinetry, all new furnishings, art, area rugs, accessories, etc…..
At our second design meeting, this busy executive said, “ I get very overwhelmed, I cannot make design decisions, you do it”! So she handed me her keys, her budget, and said, I look forward to seeing your design creation when I arrive back from my trip in 8 days!! WOW, let me say, this is not my first design reveal, but in this case, I had little to go by just a few thoughts from my client and a few dislikes she stated and off we both went! Every piece of her furniture (all 3 pieces, lol) have been resold and replaced with an all-new velvet sofa with all new custom Dawn D Totty Designed sofa pillows, two reupholstered accent & drum chairs, 8″ charcoal bamboo hardwoods replaced a yellow laminate, the walls have been painted in simply white (satin finish) & the ceiling in Caviar from Sherwin Williams (gloss), a new sphere ceiling fixture with new electrical, a custom-designed antique tripod floor lamp by Dawn D Totty Designs, a wool & silk area rug layered with faux sheepskin, two side & cocktail tables, accessories, wall art, a new dining area has been created with enough seating for four, custom benches with a metal island backing for an additional eating area, dramatic cork wall paper from Candice Olson complete this classic condo design!!
What a transformation this space has made from dark and lack luster to a swanky uptown penthouse!!
The metallic cork wallpaper was the first piece selected and what a statement it makes! I wish you could stand in this space and see first hand how spectacular the dazzle factor it has! The room itself has 12′ ceilings and an open floor plan, however, the entire square footage is only 1,200 sq ft., so a monochromatic color scheme was a sure thing. The solid wash of color palette in lush pewters and grays add to the elegance and drama of this transitional/contemporary design.
A Beautifully designed space truly relies on the details and finishing touches, that’s what makes any space personalized for the individual that resides there! Every thing in our homes and office should be a reflection of our interests and what we love!!
It’s true, what completes a fabulous design are the details (many found at) Oakes & Olivers Modern Merchantile and The Refindery in Chattanooga, TN that are put into it! Every client has their very own personality, likes, dislikes, and to design without those key factors is a risk not worth taking.

Reupholstering can have a high price point so to stay on budget, look for nice furniture pieces and your fabrics at a discount prices. FYI– In most cases, to reupholster a small piece it may take as long as 6 weeks to complete, sofa’s sometimes longer.
Mixing and layering of metal finishes (some of these pieces where discovered at)- http://www.relikschattanooga.com as well as textiles is currently one of the top trending design applications and clearly creates that timeless classic design that this client and penthouse deserve!
